UnLtd Social Entrepreneurs Awards

Are you a member of university staff, a current student or a recent graduate with an idea for a social enterprise that could benefit from support, training and funding?

Apply now and we'll support you to develop your social enterprise activity with up to £15,000.

We're looking to support projects run by inspiring and motivated people like you that:

  • Tackle a social problem
  • Will have social impact through the activity of the project
  • Can show that there is need and demand for the project
  • Are innovative

We will provide support and funding for enterprising new ventures in the following categories: 

Try It Awards - up to £1,000 to try out ideas

Do it Awards – up to £5,000 to grow an entrepreneurial idea

Build it Awards – up to £15,000 to build projects that have been operating for over a year

Support will include funding and participation in mentoring networks/workshops and training/networking events offered through the nationwide Social Entrepreneurship Awards programme.

Background

The Keele University Social Entrepreneur Awards is part of a £2 million higher education (HE) support initiative funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and delivered by UnLtd, the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs.

Keele University has been chosen as one of the 56 partner higher education institutions (HEIs) on an UnLtd/HEFCE support programme offering grants and tailored support to selected social entrepreneurs at each institution. The Research & Enterprise team are working together to offer the UnLtd Social Entrepreneurs Awards scheme in 2012-2013.
