The Research and Enterprise Services team at RES away-day

The Research and Enterprise Services team at Keele Hub for Sustainability

Keele University’s Research and Enterprise Services team took a rare break away from the office to spend the nine-to-five hours at the University’s Sustainability Hub – enjoying a day of sun, sandwiches and presentations.

The RES away-day gave the team a chance to talk about their work and catch-up with the rest of the department.

Head of Research and Enterprise Services, Peter Hooper said: "With nearly half the office having joined RES within the past year, and three new services being developed, a key focus of the day was knowledge exchange, with each team giving a presentation on their area and key functions.”

Business woman and star of BBC Two’s Dragons’ Den Deborah Meaden even snuck through the back of the lecture theatre as the Contracts team delivered their presentation.

“The Contracts team's talk was enlivened by Deborah Meaden appearing at the back of the room for their presentation,” Peter said.

“Although undoubtedly fascinated by contracts, Deborah was rather more interested in Dee and Jo's work on encouraging student entrepreneurs and on our greening business internships.”

Deborah had just received an honorary degree from Keele University and was taking a tour of the Hub at the time.
