The Innovation Centre-based firm is now looking to take on five new recruits after the contract was expanded.

24 I.S. signed a deal in January with a Melbourne-based solar panel company which would see staff selling solar panel installations to Australian customers from its UK call centre.

The Innovation Centre-based firm is now looking to take on five new recruits after the contract was expanded.

Director Tim Jones said: "We will be increasing the size of our business to consumer sales team over the next few weeks to accommodate the demand from Australia.

"Having spent a few weeks in Perth in January, it's clear that the Australian economy has been largely unaffected by the global financial crisis and it makes a lot of sense to have a focus on this part of the world."

Staff on the contract work a morning shift to match the early evening hours in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

Tim added: "We have some fairly unique working hours for UK sales staff on this contract, but they are all quite pleased to be going home for the evening at 1pm."

Tim launched 24 I.S. with fellow director Kay Keeling last year and moved from theri original base to Keele University Science and Business Park to accommodate its growth. It currently employs around 15 people.

On top of the expansion of the Australian contract, the firm has picked up several new deals from the IT sector. Tim said: "We believe what we are offering is something that is extremely relevant in today's economy – everyone needs more sales, and help to generate those sales."

Kay added: "We are generating inquiries from all over the world."

24 I.S. launched a new service offering business to business price comparison information for online retailers earlier this year, which Kay said is attracting increasing levels of interest. Staff have just returned from Belgium after showcasing the service to a major household appliances manufacturer.

Kay added: "All of this combined means that we have five job vacancies that we will be seeking to fill in the next few weeks We're delighted to be creating jobs for the local economy, especially in the current climate."
