Woolcool and The Stone Group, joint winners of Sustainability and Environment Award
Congratulations to Woolcool and The Stone Group, joint winners in the Sustainability and Environment Category at this year's Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Business Awards. Keele University was delighted to continue its sponsorship of this category and its support of the Chambers' Awards in general.
Taking place at Uttoxeter Racecourse and arranged by Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, who were recently named ‘Chamber of the Year 2021’, the awards celebrate the achievements of businesses in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire over the past twelve months.
Julian Read, Programme Manager, Smart Energy Network Demonstrator (SEND), Keele University and panel chair said: “It has been a very difficult decision to reach, and all the applicants were worthy winners in their own way. In fact, the prioritisation of sustainability and consideration towards environmental issues were evident in all discussions and applications. However, two of the businesses proved that their entire business model and thinking was centred around sustainability and the environment.”
Launched in 2008, Woolcool are pioneers of 100% pure wool packaging for the transportation of temperature sensitive goods. A certified B Corporation, the company’s insulated products are reusable and fully sustainable, significantly reducing the impact of waste to landfill.
The Stone Group have over 25 years’ experience in providing digital transformation solutions to organisations across the UK and are also an award-winning IT Asset Disposal partner, believing passionately about zero to landfill.
