How We Can Help

We understand that some schools acquire professional development course delivery opportunities independently and are happy to develop/deliver those opportunities without involvement from Research and Enterprise Services.

This is perfectly fine and in such circumstances, we would only ask that you inform us of such activity for our records.

RES Responsibilities

In cases where Research and Enterprise Services brings an opportunity to your school, or your school requires our assistance, we have the following responsibilities when supporting schools to deliver such courses to employers:

  1. Identify new CPD opportunities or tenders and handle initial enquiries
  2. Contact the Head of School and School Manager for her/him to determine if they wish to proceed with any CPD opportunities brought to their attention
  3. Contact the Head of School to agree the lead academic who will develop/deliver the course
  4. Where applicable, assist the School in the CPD tender/proposal process  
  5. Where applicable, be the lead and key liaison between Keele University and the employer
  6. In conjunction with the School Manager, lead academic and employer involved, agree reasonable timescales for tender/proposal submission, delivery of the CPD and any other deliverables
  7. Develop CPD contracts between Keele University and the employer
  8. Assist in the after-care of the employer (e.g. feedback forms, maintaining links)
  9. Be a point of contact and support for the School Manager and lead  academic addressing any queries she/he has regarding the CPD

School Responsibilities

In turn, RES would like the School to adopt the following responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to the overall guidelines within this Guidance
  2. Head of School to inform RES whether or not they wish to go ahead with a particular CPD opportunity (on a case-by-case basis)
  3. If the decision is to go ahead, the Head of School to inform RES which academic they are allocating to lead the development/delivery of the CPD opportunity
  4. School Manager to produce all costing/pricing for the CPD opportunity adhering to the costing/pricing guidelines within this Guidance
  5. School Manager to keep the Head of School up to speed with developments for any given CPD opportunity
