University Submissions
In May 2009 , Keele University was delighted to have its Bronze SWAN Award renewed for a further three successive years in light of its commitment to assisting the recruitment and retention of women in Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) disciplines. The Award is recognition of the University’s collection and analysis of key data and the development of action plans in gender equality in SET (these achievements relate to the first three key areas as set out in the SWAN Charter). To retain membership of the Charter, the University must deliver annual reports to SWAN, providing evidence of what the University is doing to uphold the principles of the SWAN Charter. As part of its commitment to the Athena SWAN Charter, Keele runs a career development course called AWAKE, and has held a series of lectures by high profile women in Science.
