White Mulberry  Morus alba

This is the long-cultivated species preferred by silkworms. It was introduced to Britain before 1600. It is rare in collections.

The foliage is shiny green and variable in shape, some leaves having deep lobes, others none.

The fruits are white, becoming pink or purplish.
