Campus Nature Trail
Stop 4
Firstly note the two rows of flowering cherries. These are part of a collection of over 240 varieties that the University hopes to expand. It is recognised by Plant Heritage as a National Collection.
In front of the Tawney Building is a group of two cedars - Deodar Cedrus deodora and Atlas C. atlantica. To the left is a mature Sweet Chestnut Castanea sativa . To the right of the picture, behind the Walter Moberly Hall, is a stand of five Dawn Redwoods Metasequoia glyptostroboides and two Hornbeams Carpinus betula ‘Fastigiata'.
