After receiving a Joint PhD in French Literature from the Universities of Montreal and Paris VII in 2011, I was awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), to work at Keele's Research Institute on the book project French Writers of the Beat Generation: From Rimbaud to Michaux.

Over the past three years, I have taught French Literature and Philosophy for the Vassar-Wesleyan Program in Paris (2008-10); and French Language, Theatre, and Cinema, as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Wesleyan University (2010-11).

While conducting the research for my comparative study, French writers of the Beat Generation: From Rimbaud to Michaux, I have consolidated my expertise as a Genet specialist: editing the dossier Jean Genet, toujours en fuite, which brought together the leading names in the field (Spirale: 2012); contributing a series of entries on Genet and his ambivalent relationship to America in the Dictionnaire Genet (forthcoming from Honoré Champion in 2013); and an essay to the Cahier de l'Herne devoted to Genet and his criticism (forthcoming from L'Herne in 2013). I have also developed my strength as a Franco-American comparativist through conference papers (Middelburg, Holland 2012; Keele 2013; Aalborg, Denmark 2013) and the first of a series of journal articles ("The Parting of Burroughs and Kerouac: The French Backstory to the First Beat Novel, from Rimbaud to Poetic Realist Cinema," forthcoming in Comparative American Studies 11.3, 2013).
