Keele in the USA (formerly North American Foundation for Keele University)

Keele in the USA was incorporated in 2001as The North American Foundation for Keele University, Inc,  by Keele alumni in the USA

  • To promote the continuing support of alumni in North America
  • To seek support through gifts and contributions, for projects and activities at Keele University
  • To promote the education, teaching, research and scholarship of Keele University
  • To encourage the ongoing relationship between Keele University and former students in North America

The Board of Keele in the USA (formerly the North American Foundation) is made up of alumni volunteers residing in the USA. In 2013 the Foundation will be renamed as "Keele in the USA" to reflect its commitment to provide a broad range of services to Keele alumni in the USA and to support Keele University in the USA.

  •    2007 - Study Abroad Alumni Friends initiative launched in USA and Canada
  •    2006 - The Annual Neil and Gina Smith Student of the Year Award launched
  •    2007 - North American Homecoming at Keele
  •    2009 - NAFKU Scholarships launched in San Diego
  •    2009 - North American Partner University Bursaries launched
  •    2010 - Study Abroad Bursaries launched
  •    2010 - North American Student Bursaries launched
  •    2010 - First NAFKU America Scholarship awarded - Morgan Davison
  •    2011 - Second NAFKU America Scholarship awarded - Natasha Flick

  •    2013 - Keele in Canada formed independently of NAFKU to support Canadian alumni and Keele in Canada Scholarships
  •    2013 - NAFKU decides to be renamed as Keele in the USA to offer extended support to US alumni

  •    2013 - Keele in the USA formed to support US alumni and Keele in the USA Scholarships

Supporting Keele in the USA and Keele in Canada

Contributions may be made as single or regular gifts.

According to the purposes and instructions of the Keele in the USA NAFKU Board, American gifts may support, for example:

  • The Keele in the USA Scholarship (formerly NAFKU USA Scholarship)
  • The Neil and Gina Smith Student of the Year Award
  • The Keele Key Fund

Canadian gifts may support, for example:

  • The Keele in Canada Scholarship (formerly NAFKU Canada Scholarship)
  • The Keele Key Fund

USA taxpayers: The North American Foundation for Keele University, Inc., is a 501(3)(c) organization recognized by the IRS for purposes of charitable giving. Donations may be made securely online at the new Keele in the USA website shortly. Checks payable to “The North American Foundation for Keele University” or “NAFKU” may be mailed to the Foundation at: North American Foundation for Keele University Inc, Attn: Treasurer, PO Box 234, Allen, Texas 75013 USA. This status will be transferred in 2013 to Keele in the USA.

Canada taxpayers: Keele University has been recognised as a prescribed foreign university under Section 3503 of the Canadian Income Tax Regulations for purposes of charitable giving.  Checks payable to “Keele University” may be mailed to The Alumni and Development Office, IC2 Building, Keele University, Keele ST5 5BG United Kingdom. Gifts by Canadian alumni will be assumed to be associated with the objects of Keele in Canada.  Online giving facilities are under preparation for Canadian supporters.
