Hi, my name is Aisha Balogun, I’m studying History and Politics at Keele University and I live in Halls on Campus and this is my room.

It’s perfect if you just want to study, get away from the library, come in and also it’s great if you kind of make it homely and put pictures up and make it your own space, which I have done.

The room is quite big, so you don’t get too cooped up in here; it’s perfect where everything like that and everything you need and everything you need is here.  Shall we go outside?

I’ve been at Keele University now for about six months and I’m loving every minute of it; there is so much going on, and there is a community feel here.  It gives you the chance to study abroad, which is something I really wanted to do.  So hopefully I’ll be going to America and there are so many great partner universities that this university has and links with other countries.

I would say if you are managing a student budget make sure you plan ahead; definitely plan ahead.  I know everyone says it, but plan ahead; set aside an amount you are going to spend on food, on money and going out, but definitely try and stick to your budget as much as you can, don’t go crazy if this is the first time you’ve had money that you are dealing with yourself, make sure you stick to your budget.

Everyone gets a Keele card; every student is given a Keele card and it gives you access to everything you need; you need it in exams, you need it to get into the laundrette, you need it to get into the social space, you need it to get into the Union for nights out at the Club.  It’s also great if you want to get discounts on clothes, because it shows you are a student so you get an NUS discount.  So the Keele card is essential for life here at Keele University.

Keele University is a Campus Uni, so you are never more than twenty minutes away from anything; so there’s not the hassle of being late for a lecture, getting the bus, you are always in walking distance of where you need to go, so for getting to shops it’s perfect and the Library is no more than ten minutes away from anywhere in the whole of the Campus.

Living in Halls also is great because you make friends straight away, every room has phone and internet access, everyone is really friendly; you meet so many people from different backgrounds, people from London, people from Japan, people from all over the world and it’s perfect because all these cultures colliding come together and it just makes a great thing.

Thank you.
