Marcus Bateman

Biography

Marcus is a consultant physiotherapist specialising in the upper limb, at Derby Shoulder Unit.  In 2019, he was awarded an NIHR Doctoral Fellowship which is nearing completion. 

In 2018, he received the British Elbow & Shoulder Society (BESS) highest award, the Copeland Fellowship.  In 2021, he was appointed to the BESS Research Committee and has co-authored two national UK guidelines on the management of lateral elbow tendinopathy and atraumatic shoulder instability.  He is also an associate editor for the ‘Shoulder and Elbow’ journal.
