Public Dialogue on Travel |
ProjectsPublic Dialogue on TravelAs part of the vision to be the Ultimate Campus University for the 21st Century, Keele University has been engaged in a public dialogue on travel during the 2007-2008 academic year. An independent consultancy with extensive experience in enabling stakeholders to participate in planning and decision making was appointed to design and deliver an engagement process to enable key stakeholders to enter into discussions and deliberations regarding travel/transport issues to, from and around the whole campus and the hospital site. The deliberative consultation took place over several months and included workshops, an open forum and a reference group. The final report has now been produced and includes recommendations on facilities for cycling, ways to increase the use of public transport, reducing cars on campus and increasing car park charges, with the revenue being used to fund other proposed changes. If you would like to read report you can do so by following the link to the left of this page. The report has been formally considered by the University, and the management response is available as a link also. Following the management response the recommendations will now be considered in detail by University officers in order to draw up an implementation plan.
