Access to the Professions
Are you interested in a career in Medicine or Law?
Access to the Professions is a scheme for Year 12 students who have the ability to achieve A and A* grades and have an interest in pursuing a career in medicine or law. The scheme will help you to find out more about the profession and higher education in order to help you gain access to these professions and succeed in your chosen career.
The project is supported by staff and academics in Keele's very own School of Medicine and School of Law. This year we are pleased to be working alongside the University Hospital of North Staffordshire's Careers and Skills Academy as well as staff and lawyers at Knights plc who will provide events, visit days and professional mentoring to A2P learners.
The scheme will provide you with a wide range of support and activities including:
- A Keele Student mentor who is currently studying the course you are interested in via our brand new Ementoring website.
- Direct access to people who work in the professions through e-mentoring
- Opportunities to visit the University for events/activities relating to the chosen profession
- Opportunities for work shadowing and career related visits
- Higher Education information, including specialist information on making successful university applications and interview support

“The Access to the Professions scheme gave me the encouragement and confidence to apply to university, despite the worry and doubt that I had. I have applied to study Medicine at university and am really happy that I'm a step closer to reaching my dreams and what I thought I couldn't do!”
